Collin needs a Heart Transplant

Hi my name is Margie Young and my nephew, Collin Moore, is currently in Texas Children’s Hospital ICU with heart failure. The diagnosis is Cardiomyopathy, which the doctors have determined, he was born with. We are grateful it was found before a cardiac arrest. He had open heart surgery to implant a LVAD, which is basically portable life support. This device will help to stabilize him so that he may go home until a heart becomes available.

His mom, my very dear sister, Paula Moore, is staying with him night and day as he is coming up on an 8 week hospital stay with 6 weeks in the TCH heart failure ICU. Her funds are being exhausted and as a single mom, her ability to work at her job has been impossible. We only ask for prayers and whatever financial help can be spared.

This incredible boy, loves basketball, video games and spending time with friends as any 13 year old does and is in 7th grade at Salyards Middle School in Fairfield. He’s strong and needs as much support as he can get right now in the fight for his life. He will need life long care and the cost of these life saving meds and procedures continues to grow.
