My new record is ready for mastering!
Donation protected
A couple years ago, I wrote a song, and I sent it to some friends, and those friends said, "OMG, you have to make a record!" It has been 8 years since I released my last record. I kind of thought I was done, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I have all these songs that I have written since 2014 that are just languishing in my notebook. I started to feel sorry for them. So, I let myself be talked into it, and magic, literal magic, started to happen. Like I decided to book studio time and some unexpected money flowed in THE NEXT DAY that covered that expense. Like scheduling miracles and all kinds of little coincidences that made the end result stronger, sweeter, and better.
I have never been happier with a record than I am with this one. I am grateful to so many people for helping; those who were actively involved and those who don't even know they helped. And now, I'd like to be grateful to you, too. Please consider joining the team by making a donation to help me get the mastering done, so we can put this sparkling little gem out into the world! It's called The Light You Can't See In the Day, and I hope you love it.
The Players:
Me, on acoustic guitar and vox
Christine Moad on bass and background vox
Ryan Rumery on drums, and mixing, and recording more stuff, and I don't even know what all he has done, honestly!
Annie Savage on fiddle and viola
Pat Smith on electric guitar
Sebastian Sauder on cello
Byrn Dafydd Paul on pedal steel
Kylie Buddin on electric guitar
Andrew Teutsch on keyboards
Iowan alert - ALL of these folks are from Iowa.
Give a listen to the attached song - the song that started it all! - and if you want to hear more, before it's released out into the wide, wide world, throw a few bucks my way! Thank you in advance! This song also features Josh DeSmidt (Colorado) and Justin Craig (New York) on additional electric guitars. So. Many. Guitars. It's rather dreamy and wonderful!
If you donate $25, I'll send you the digital files as soon as I have them. For each additional $10, I'll send a copy to anyone you designate: friends, family or whoever you like. Just include their email in a message. Thanks again!
Quick update: I decided that since this is going to be a digital release, I would need the Hi Rez audio files for best quality, and that has increased the price a bit, but it will be totally worth it.
