My Olympic Campaign

My Name is Charlie Dixon I live in Maldon Essex; I compete both Nationally and Internationally on the youth IQfoil class (under 19) and am moving to the Olympic class IQfoil in a campaign for selection for the Olympics in Paris 2024 and L.A 2028.

This year has gone amazingly well achieving all podium results against very strong international competitors.

Selection as UK representative for – World Sailing, World Youth Championships, The Hague, Netherlands (Youth Olympics) 2022 - 1st IQ Foil.

IQ Foil International Games, Lake Garda 2022 - 1st IQ Foil.

IQ Foil Class World Youth Championships 2022 Lake Silvaplana, Switzerland -

1st IQ Foil.

The Future.

I am looking to further my training with the British Sailing Team and will be soon attending the IQ Foil Men’s World Championships in Brest, France. Training Camps throughout the winter, then onto more Internationals and Olympic Trials next year.

Currently, I have been funding my training, events and equipment myself through support entirely from my parents and my part-time job. I have had a couple of donations from family and friends with small local companies.

I know my parents will do everything they can to help me reach my dream, but the continual costs of competing at this level mean it is likely to be impossible without additional support.

Any funds raised will be used to pay for entries to events, travel and accommodation costs, equipment and training costs.

I know that it is difficult for everyone at this time and there is not always much money to spare. However, if you felt able to contribute to my campaign in some small way I would be very grateful. Anything at all that you could spare would just make my dream a little bit more of a reality.
