My Partner's Surgery

My beloved partner of the last twenty-two years is having his long-awaited, gender-affirming chest surgery on April 8. The surgery itself is covered by his insurance, but we will have to spend 5-7 days in Portland for his initial recuperation period, given the scheduling of follow-up appointments and in order to be near the clinic in case anything goes wrong. Between that stay and the other medical/logistical expenses for aftercare, we find that our savings is not enough to cover everything he'll need. We originally had sources of income set up to cover these things, but at the last minute these sources fell through. Our immediate family is as strapped as we are at the moment, including one person who would have been able to help had she not ended up with several unforeseen health issues of her own. To cover our surgery-related expenses, we estimate we will need an additional $800, and are asking our friends and community if you can offer any financial support. If you're able to help with a donation of any size, it will aid this process, relieve stress, purchase needed supplies and proximity to the surgical center, and we'll be extremely grateful.
