My Professional Golf Career - road to the Tour

Hi, my name is George Avgousti, thanks for taking the time to read my page.

I am a professional golfer from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. I play and practise at the Shire London and started my professional career in 2019. Since then I have learned so much about my craft. At the start of this season, I was thrilled to win my first professional competition.

I have created this page because I am in need of some financial support to be able to compete in the upcoming season (2024). This season is crucial for my development as a professional golfer and progressing towards where I want to be.

My plan this year is to be able to play a full season on the Clutch Pro Tour, which is a development tour in the UK. Towards the end of the year I hope to progress onto European Tour school.

The only support I am receiving at the moment is from my parents who both work full time to provide me with the best opportunity to achieve my dream. However, despite their hard work and sacrifice, the likelihood of them being able to continue to fund my golf career alone, is impossible. This is why I am seeking help elsewhere.

My dream is to one day play on the PGA Tour. Playing a full season this year would put me in the best position for tour school, which will in turn help me on my journey.

A full season this year will see me play between 16-20 events and then tour school. The costs of a season consist not only of tournament entries but also sessions with my coach, the cost of travel, accommodation and equipment. I have estimated this to cost around £25,000 in total. If I can raise something even close to that to contribute to this season and give myself the best chance, then I would be over the moon.

I never wanted to be in a position where I needed to ask for financial support – I have tried all other options before having to reach out but without some help I realise my dream may not become a reality.

Whatever the donation, large or small, it would be greatly appreciated and would really help my career as a professional golfer. I would never forget anyone that helped me. If you can’t donate it would be great if you could pass this on to someone that might be able to.
