My roommate stole my car and skipped town owing rent

Full Story:
Friends and community, I need help! Many thanks to those who already donated by Venmo to TropicalEvents. I will add those donations in to the GoFundMe so an accurate total is reflected.
First of all, this is not about Tropical, I am fine from that. Not great, but was gonna get by.
But I was just totally screwed over by my roommate and tenant who has been staying here 3 months, but only paid for the first two, and stole my car.
A month ago he gave me a story about his mom's medical bills and asked if he could pay the rent 2 weeks late. I agreed. Then the next thing was it was his final check and he had it mailed but it must have gone to the wrong place. Finally he told me he went to the main office and picked up a paper check and had it in his hand. He said the next day, Oct 8, that he would deposit it into my bank by 11am. He was 1300 behind on back rent and said he really wanted to stay longer and would pay the 1100 contractually agreed upon.
And yes I did verify his work, he really is a travel nurse and I saw his paystub and even went to his work. And no, not in creepy checking-up way, I went to his urgent care on a medical need and is actually a really good nurse, So following that, I trusted him,
On top of the rent, he basically stole my car. I sold it to him and have an agreement for him to pay, but he gave me more stories about cashing in a retirement fund and how it would take 5-10 business days, then of course it was longer. He put the car in his grown daughter's name, and I don't know where it is. He has paid zero for it. Having an agreement isn't going to mean much unfortunately.
So I thought everything was ok yesterday, right up to about 5pm or so. i don't go into his room much because I respect privacy. I was head down in my studies and writing my Tropical wrap post, then helping my daughter untangle some lights and put them up in her room. Definitely was concerned by not hearing from him and no deposit by 11am. Texted at 1230. Called at 2 - straight to VM
About 530 I turned my attention more to my roommate. I went in his room and all his stuff is gone. He only left a big ugly carpet stain I didn't know about, and all my stuff that I had furnished the room with. And as he's not answering me all day, we can see pretty clearly what has happened. Maybe I should have, bit I really hadn't considered this as he was quite comfortable in my house and we got along well.
So now I have to clean the carpet, clean the room, change the locks, and find a new tenant. Which also takes me away from my studies, and my work. And this is why I have decided I need to ask for help.
While after Tropical's loss around $1000-2000 plus all the time I donated for free did not put me in a great position by any means, I could have withstood it.
I was just barely going to make it through to early December's grad school student loans that help with my living expenses as I work 3 music-related jobs and charge through grad school as a single dad.
But now I have to say I am simply no longer going to make it without help.
Please help! Any donation, or post shares if you can't donate, are very much appreciated.
I am very independent and absolutely hate asking for help like this, but I really need it right now, and have my daughter to consider, so I am sucking it up and asking. Please don't hate on people who ask for help, just ignore it if it bothers you.
This is the last straw in an unfortunate chain of events winding from losing my primary phone, to Tropical's social media coordinator getting cyberhacked putting the bulk of that work back on my crowded plate in the weeks leading to the event, to leaving my laptop in Eugene and paying Fedex $250 to not ever deliver it to the event and running everything severely hampered, plus some more I won't go into.
I'm at my wit's end with bad luck right now but thankful for my wonderful daughter, family, and friends, and I know that this too shall pass.
Here is how my funding goal is set:
$2400 in rent that was supposed to be in my account yesterday
$2700 for fair value of car
$150 to rekey locks
$150 for carpet cleaning
--------------
$5400
Anything over is not anticipated but would go towards lost work time as I deal with this, and help against the loss I took from Tropical.
I am thankful to have a strong support network built through decades of service to the dance community and $33,000 in my own charitable contributions through my event. So if that moves or has moved you at all then please donate or share or both.
Heartfelt thanks in advance!
