My Seminary Experience

            Hi my name is Nechama Heit and I am a graduating student of Yeshivat Kadimah High School in St. Louis, Missouri. I have spent the last many years learning, developing and growing in my Jewish knowledge and faith. 
               One thing that sets me apart from others is that anytime I make a commitment, I give 110%. No matter the situation, easy or hard, I achieve the task to my fullest potential, whether it involves school, youth organizations, or personal activities. The reason I dedicate so much of myself is to give to others, to make a difference, and forge togetherness within the Jewish nation. My dream is to travel and study in Israel with thousands of other students my age and have the opportunity to learn and grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically. In addition, I want to connect to my roots and really understand the history of the Jewish people and the land of Israel. I want to learn about myself and whom I want to become in the future. I want to learn what it is like to be living away from family and to learn independence.
               I am so thrilled and excited to have been accepted to Sharfmans Seminary in Jerusalem for the 2020-2021 year!  There will be opportunities to learn from great scholars, develop new relationships, acts of community service, amazing tours/trips around Israel and more for 10 months. Full tuition for this amazing program costs $25,000. Fortunately, with the help of my Rabbis, youth groups, and generous scholarship from Sharfmans, a large portion of the tuition is covered. That leaves me with $10,000 that I must raise.
