My Sister Eileen Prosser

Hello, my name is Lillian Gipe. On February 24, my sister Eileen was out eating diner to celebrate her daughter’s birthday where she had a major stroke due to a brain bleed. She had to be airlifted to Albany Medical where she was intubated and the bleeding was controlled. She has been extubated and is alert and aware of her surroundings. She is paralyzed on her left side and is having difficulty swallowing. There is still swelling on her brain and her medical team is trying to keep her blood pressure stable. Further testing and evaluation is needed to determine the long term effects from the stroke. She is going to require extensive rehabilitation and has a long road ahead of her. Her husband is currently driving back and forth 2 hours each way to Albany Medical in order to be by her side and advocate for her medical care. We are eager for her to get stronger and be able to come home, however, her current home is in no condition for a stroke victim. The bathroom and entryway need to be made more accessible, and she will likely need a ramp. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to read about my sister Eileen. Any contributions, thoughts, and prayers mean the world to us.
