MY SISTER NEEDS A NEW HEART & A DOLLAR

Hi, my name is Emily & my sister needs a new heart.......a sentence I didn't ever think I would need to sit down and write.

Lauren is 42, a Mum of 3 & unfortunately not new to the world of heart surgery, this will be her 4th major heart operation & this time it’s a transplant.

Loz was put on the transplant list on the 18th of October, which is the most amazing news & also the most terrifying.

What does this mean?

She waits for a call to say they have found a heavenly heart donor that’s a match for her & she leaves her kids in Port Macquarie with family, heads to St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney for her transplant.

Because Loz has had so many surgeries already her transplant is extremely complicated & risky, we’ve been told it will be 10-12 hours, 2-3 weeks in ICU & months on the ward. After this she has to live in Sydney close to the hospital for the next 3 months for post transplant checkups and test.

Go fund me is a tough pill to swallow for someone with as much pride as Loz but the reality is she has so many expenses that we as a family can cover but the big one that we can’t is 3 months accommodation in the city of Sydney.

My pledge to this community is my sister needs a new heart & a dollar! A dollar is all I’m asking for & I know the universe will sort the rest out. I want to be able to have her spend her recovery in a nice space for her, her carers & her kids.
