This is Peter Jones and I am fundraising for my son Adam. He's 22 years old and on Sunday, August 6th, he was a victim of a hit-and-run while riding his bike home from work. Adam fractured his right collarbone, his left wrist and the front and back of his pelvis on the right side of his body. He suffered extensive contusions and abrasions to his face, eyes, ears, right hand and across his back.

Surgery was performed to fix his collarbone and his wrist. He needs assistance with day-to-day eating, bathroom and bathing. While he is getting better each day, he has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

Sadly, he ended up spending a full week in the hospital as well as extensive testing and two surgeries. Costly enough on its own for certain. However, he and his younger sister had just moved into their first apartment the month prior and have a lease and associated bills to handle on top of it.

Unfortunately, Adam didn't qualify for any disability pay through his work. He just didn't meet the minimum number of hours required to get financial assistance while not working. Compounding the issue, his sister will have to cut back her hours heavily as she starts her second year of nursing school on August 21.

We have what will certainly be, excessive medical costs as well as day-to-day living expenses for Adam and in turn his sister.

So, they have a lot going on so I am asking on Adam's behalf (and my daughter's) for any assistance that might be available to help them navigate these very rough waters they are traveling.
