Help Dylan get essential treatment for cancer
Donation protected
Hi, I am Alex and I am fundraising for my son Dylan.
Dylan was diagnosed in April 2021, aged 23, with a rare soft tissue cancer, Synovial Sarcoma. Since his diagnosis Dylan, despite bouts of ill health, has shown incredible fortitude in maintaining his fitness through a combination of debilitating conventional treatments (amputation of his right forearm, chemotherapy, lung surgery and radiotherapy) and working with integrative practitioners using diet, supplements and complementary therapies to keep himself well physically and mentally, and we have remained positive. He has continued his illustration (re-teaching himself to draw with his left hand, better than many can with their right!) and some modelling work through all of this, resilient in the face of great challenges.
Unfortunately, despite all this, the pesky disease is still refusing to abate, synovial sarcoma is rare, and therefore there is less research and consequently treatments available. We need to look further afield, beyond our wonderful struggling NHS, to treatment that works on a micro level to target the specifics of Dylan’s individual cancer. This treatment requires expensive genomic testing and is only available privately through specialist clinics.
Time is of the essence now and whilst we do the research into the best place to continue his treatment we are hoping to raise £40,000+ to pay for testing, treatment, travel and to continue the complementary therapies and supplements that help to keep him well.
We would be very grateful for anything you felt able to contribute, however small.
With all our love and gratitude
xx
