My step father was mauled by a neighbor’s dog

Hi, my name is Ella and I’m raising money for my step dad Jake who was mauled by a dog last night. He was in our backyard cleaning up before dinner when the neighbor’s dog jumped up over the fence and ripped his face apart. While he was screaming for help the neighbor told him to send the stitches bill and ran into his house leaving Jake alone crying for help. When my mom went outside the neighbor told her not to call the police but she told them that she was going to call 911 as he was bleeding profusely. The police said there is a long process to go through to determine if this is a dangerous dog. In the meantime we are all too scared to go outside right now. My step dad will miss the next week or two of work as he needs to keep it as sterile as possible. He also has quite a bit in medical bills and while we all understand we can sue the neighbor we know that it is a long process. My mom wants to reinforce the fence and add something to the top of it to keep the dog out of the yard. Any funds raised will go to help out with lost wages, medical bills, plastic surgery and fence work. Thank you so much for your help! My step dad is a great guy. He’s been a great dad to me and my siblings. He always goes out of his way to help people fix their vehicles for a reasonable price too. He works 12 hour days sometimes 6 days a week.
