My stepfather diagnosed with metastatic cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brittany. I am doing a fundraiser to help my stepfather, Tom Roberts, who just turned 58 this year. A few weeks ago, my mom became worried when he didn't come home from work. She went to look for him at his job and found him sitting on his motorbike, unable to move. She tried talking to him, but his eyes starting rolling to the back of his head and blood started coming out of his mouth. My mom called 911. They took him to the hospital where they did an MRI of his brain and merely gave him painkillers instead of actually doing any further testing. He was sent home, barely able to move. The next week, they did more testing on him and found that he has lung, liver, and bone cancer. It's an aggressive form of cancer that is attacking his whole body and causing it to break down. The oncologist said he wasn't able to go back to work since he had declined so rapidly and can barely walk. He also has no use of the left side of his body. Tom went from being 145 pounds to 113 pounds in just a few weeks. His liver biopsy alone is $5,000 dollars. I'm doing this fundraiser in the hopes that I can raise money for him and my mom during this difficult time with absolutely no income until he is able to get disability, hopefully. Thank you in advance for your generosity and taking the time to read this. Please, share, if you can. I'm hoping that they can focus on his health without the added burden of worrying about the exorbitant financial cost. Anything you can contribute is so appreciated, even if that's taking the time to keep him and my mom in your prayers. Thank you. Brittany
