Her Healing: Combatting Complex PTSD
Donation protected

Our mother Kelly has been diagnosed with Complex PTSD, after battling through symptoms and denial for decades, it came to a breaking point. Her will to live was diminishing rapidly.
After repeated trauma related episodes this Christmas which ended with sending our mother to the ER, she was transported to a local residential in-patient facility for one week.
Our mother sought more long term care in order to fully understand how her past of sexual, physical and psychological abuse is presently affecting those she loves and herself.
As of now, our mother resides at a Mental Health Treatment Center that specializes in sexual abuse and psychological trauma. Providing critical care such as psychiatric, medical, and therapeutic treatments including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Individual Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
These are the first steps needed, due to the prolonged exposure of trauma.
Undergoing the strenuous, debilitating, and vulnerable healing process of accepting her stepfathers physical, emotional and sexual abuse; all of which occurred during her early childhood and into her later teen years. Her treatment team has stated she is in a fragile state which requires a monitored environment and carefully planned, slow, and thoughtful re-integration of her dissociative mind and body.
Through family therapy sessions, we have seen our mother apply learned coping mechanisms that provide her with a more stable existence, and therein allow her to grow and get to know herself, in ways she could not have previously known.

As Kelly’s daughters, we love our mother deeply and know this is just the beginning of a lifelong journey, to heal a lifetime of wounds; this progress in our mothers life means everything to us.
Our mother has been a loving, giving and courageous and compassionate woman, who has taken on the seemingly impossible, by continuing to empathize and love, when no love or empathy was provided to her. We feel deeply inspired by her journey of endless perseverance and consistent faith. To see her overcome fears and the control of the abuse, is a lifelong gift, we will not take for granted!
We are asking for your donations and support. The donations will be put to the best use by covering the cost needed for medical expenses. The good news is her insurance has been able to cover the residential treatment program necessary for her healing. You can help stop the cycle of abuse that has occurred in our family, by donating today and sharing her story which will help by creating a supportive platform and community for our mother to continue to heal.
With love and all our sincerity,
Cecelia and Emma
