My wee Spuddy

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

As many of you know, my little Spud has faced more challenges in his 10 months of life than most pups do in a lifetime. Just days after bringing him home, Spud was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection (UTI). We treated it promptly, hoping that would be the end of it. Sadly, that initial diagnosis has since developed into renal dysplasia—a serious and life-threatening condition affecting his kidneys.

When Spud first fell ill, it was within the first week of his insurance policy. Because of this, anything related to his kidneys is considered pre-existing, meaning his insurance won't cover the costs of his treatment. Faced with this unexpected financial burden, I have done everything I can to give Spud the care he needs. I’ve maxed out credit cards, taken out personal loans, and exhausted all my savings. But now, I’ve hit a wall.

This morning, my heart broke as I rushed Spud back to the vet. He was passing blood, a terrifying sign that his condition is worsening. The vets have informed me that he’ll need more scans, and ultimately, surgery to remove one of his kidneys.

The costs are piling up, and I’ve already spent thousands on his medical bills. With each day, these expenses continue to grow, and unfortunately, I no longer have the means to cover them.

Spud is only 10 months old. He still has so much life ahead of him—so many walks to take, toys to chase, and cuddles to give. He’s a fighter, and with the right treatment, he has a chance at a long and happy life. But I can’t do this alone.

It is with a heavy heart that I am reaching out to ask for your help. Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards Spud’s treatment and give him the fighting chance he deserves. Every little bit counts and will bring me one step closer to saving my boy's life.

Spud has given me endless love and happiness through some personally tough times. Financially I’ve given everything I can and more to ensure he is fit and healthy but I’m currently stretched well beyond my means. I now need to try everything possible which includes reaching out to friends, family and strangers. Please help me save my best friend.
