I lost my wife and best friend the cancer. Tammy Porter Burton my life will never be the same. I don’t even know how I’m going to make it. I spent the last 35 years with a woman that I loved so much and now I had to watch her suffer with cancer and then pass away right in front of me. I don’t even know how to explain how I feel or what I’m even gonna do I don’t know how I’m going to go on, but I have to for my kids and my granddaughter. I’m gonna miss you, Tammy, with all my heart, and I love you
She is getting a Bone Marrow Transplant and Stem Cell at WV University, will be in the hospital for 50 day starting this coming February due to her diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, Plasmacytoma Cancer.
Tammy Lynn Porter-Burton, is my wife, a mother and a grandmother that was in great health till the day Diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, Plasmacytoma, cancer and Spinal cord compression (disorder) in her back in her spine. She has three tumors that have semi-paralyzed permeability from the waist down causing her to have extreme difficulty walking. The circled mass is how large the tumor is on her spine, it has gotten so big it has now pressed against the nerve that has taken away her ability to feel her lower extremities, even when poked with a pin til she can’t feel from her belly down.
Tammy has also been diagnosed with Lhermitte's syndrome and Mass of thyroid gland. With aid of a walker and wheelchair, it helped make her somewhat mobile. She also has lytic lesions on her thyroid and kidney.
She has already started radiation, and just finished her 10th round. She has been on Chemotherapy for over 4 months and it seems to be working some. The next step she’ll also have to have a bone marrow transplant.
We need help in paying some of the medical bills that have occurred due to the cancer, travel expenses back and forth to her testing and doctors which is about 4 hours away one way. She is also going to have to go back to West Virginia University oncology to get a bone marrow transplant which will put her in a hospital for about 6 weeks. I am doing everything I can to help but I've also had three heart attacks and three Strokes so it's very hard on me financially. The only alternative is for me to go back to work where I'm disabled to be able to pay some of our bills, utilities, rent and keep food on the table.
