Mya’s Miracle… the battle continues

Hi, my name is Allison and I am fund raising for my close friends who are in need of help with medical bills to daily living expenses. They have given to so many others in need over the years and now they are in need, themselves.
Mya is their daughter, who battled a rare cancer at 8 months of age. Mya endured many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation and ultimately a bone marrow transplant that saved her young life. Mya and her family spent a very long time living at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tn. Mya has endured more in her 16 years of life than most adults do in a lifetime but she continues to fight every step of the way as do her parents.
Mya was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2018, undergoing many scary tests, pokes and prods and other struggles associated with the high doses of chemo and radiation she had to endure. Mya has endured every type of seizure that one could have that has lead to major falls from drop seizures. These have led to horrible falls that have caused bleeding in her brain/ subdural hematomas. Mya has to take multiple medications that would put most of us in a coma. Her team of doctors are trying to figure out how they can help her to lead as normal of a life as possible. She will never be able to drive like most 16 year olds, she struggles with not being able to do the simple things like slumber parties, hanging out with friends and such as her seizures control every aspect of her life as well as her parent’s lives. Her parents must provide round the clock care, which leads to having to work less hours to meet Mya’s needs. They must follow her wherever she goes as these seizures have no warning. No warning on where or when. It is exhausting for Mya as well as her parents who work tirelessly to do the best they can to keep her safe.
Mya was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2022 and endured brain surgery in January, 2023. Her seizures have gone from bad to worse as her doctors work to find anything to help her at this point. This family needs your help. Any help you can provide financially to help them pay the stacking up medical bills, which is hundreds of thousands of dollars to putting food on the table. Gift cards for food so they don’t have to worry about cooking would be a big help. Any amount would help keep the mounding pressures of every day life become simpler and help them have some level of normalcy in their abnormal world. They have enough worries and any donation would help bring these anxieties down for them.
