Myhre Family Medical Journey

To know this family, is to LOVE this family. Please help me in supporting Amber, Josh and Jack during this difficult medical journey that has taken over much of their life.

Amber is a single mother with a heart of gold. She adopted both Josh and Jack fully knowing they would both have significant early childhood trauma and forever medical issues. Josh has autism and Jack, who has the best laugh, I will get to more below. Amber has dedicated her life to helping these precious boys live to their fullest extent, which is a full-time job on its own. In addition, to make ends meet, Amber also helped my husband and I while being our son’s daycare “mom” while we both worked full time. To say she and the boys have been a blessing to our family is an understatement.

Unfortunately, due to Jack's decline this spring, Amber has not been able to work which is why I am here asking for support for a family that deserves the world.

To just give you a glimpse into their lives, let me tell you a few of the medical issues that Jack faces in his life.

Jack is currently a patient at Swedish Hospital Pediatric Aero-digestive Clinic. He was born with Oral-pharyngeal Dysphasia (food and liquid enter his lungs easily) which has caused airway disease and made him immunocompromised resulting in chronic infections. He has been diagnosed with spinocerebellar ataxia type 5 which causes slow loss of all muscle control throughout his body. He also currently has an NG-tube (feeds liquid/nutrition through the nose to stomach) and will be getting a permanent G-tube in the next weeks so that all liquids/nutrition will go straight through to his stomach.

These are just a few of the day-to-day issues that this family takes on like champs! Please help me in supporting this family!!

Oh and also, it's Ambers 40th birthday this week (8/18) if you need any more reason to give!!!
