My Volunteer Trip to Nepal

Donation protected
My name is Chloe Hettinger, and I am a senior in high school. This summer, I am traveling to Nepal to volunteer in a number of hospitals in Chitwan for two weeks.

On April 25th, 2015, an earthquake in Nepal killed over 9,000 people, and injured more than 23,000. This earthquake was a massive 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale, causing major destruction throughout the country. Nepal’s major cities, including the capital Kathmandu, have been badly damaged and rural areas near the epicentre have been completely cut off by avalanches.
It was the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal–Bihar earthquake.

In a place like the United States, where medicine is advanced and available to most, people who suffer in natural disasters like this one are given the best care possible.  However, in a developing and impoverished country like Nepal, people are not nearly as lucky.  I would like to make a small difference.

As I am going to college in the fall, I am currently saving money to be able to cover as much of the cost as I can. After working over 30 hours a week this past summer, I plan on getting a new job once the workload of school and college applications lessens. This volunteer program costs about $2,800, plus the cost of airfare, international and domestic airport taxes, and visa costs.

Any amount of support in paying for this volunteer opportunity would mean the world to me.
Thank you!
