What is Make Your Own Masters?
Make Your Own Masters is a creative learning system for anyone, from any creative discipline that has faced a barrier to learning, whether it be due to finance, ethnicity, age, location, or disability. The MYOM system means that anyone from any background or circumstance can make their own education. If you'd like to know more about Make Your Own Masters you can view the MYOM website here!

Currently, MYOM is run by one volunteer with in-kind support from some amazing organisations but is not recognised by Student Finance England and doesn’t have private funding, therefore is a truly alternative, self-directed education pathway.

2024 MYOM Collective: Charlotte Dack, Chloe Baines, Alina Negoita, Eilish Briscoe, Lucy Grainge, Susanna Odedina, Rosa Del Rosario, Nicholas B Chua, Milica Cekerevac, Joe Cheng and River Wittke

Why are we fundraising?
All members of our collective work alongside the programme to financially support our learning, and the MYOM structure allows for this. This means that for our final show at Somerset House in September 2024, we are reliant on donations. This show will act as a launchpad to further our careers, a celebration of hard work and collaboration, and a thank you to those who have supported us along the way. We are aiming to throw a truly unique show, open to the public in a bid to inspire and spread the word of this amazing alternative education movement to help others in our position. To make our show happen, we will need to cover our running costs. So, all funds we raise will be used to cover items such as venue hire fees, installation, transport, security, insurance, lighting and printing.

In the future!
The MYOM collective has ambition to expand and reach more creatives by building a sustainable education movement that takes the financial barrier out of learning. So far this project has been run, unfunded on a drive to keep the system alive, but this is not sustainable, any support will ensure a new collective will follow this one, with the long-term aim being to grow MYOM, increase the number of collectives, in several locations, sharing our learnings to challenge how we learn, when we learn and who gets the opportunity to do so.

How else can you support us? Or get involved!
We are hosting a Networking and Fundraising evening in the form of an Open Evening. This will be an opportunity to learn more about Make Your Own Masters from founder Stacie Woolsey and hear from some of the 2024 MYOM collective about what they’ve been up to this past year and get more information about our final show in September.
If you are interested in attending our networking and fundraising event, you can book your tickets here!

Thank you!!
