Myomectomy - Fibroid Removal
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Mude Sibanyama. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my story, I really appreciate you. I have four fibroids around my uterus but gladly not inside. One of them is big and still growing at a fast rate. A myomectomy is an operation to remove fibroids while preserving the uterus. For women who have fibroid symptoms and want to have children in the future, myomectomy is the best treatment option.
Symptoms have worsened and there is worry of it affecting my kidneys the longer it stays. I can only eat about a half of what I am supposed to eat because of the space it is taking up. I barely have an appetite most days. Energy levels are down and I easily get fatigued. I also get cramps pretty much a third of my cycle. I have also been experiencing different kinds of pains and discomfort, which includes pelvic floor pain.
The doctor informed me that if I was planning to start a family, I would still need to get the surgery because it would complicate my pregnancy. I have to stay in the hospital for about 3 days because the large fibroid requires a big incision. Recovery is about 4-6 weeks. In my already limited situation, this new medical bill is more than what me and my family can afford, mainly because of the in-patient care.
I am not a resident and I don’t have a work permit.
I can’t work. Over the years I have done the odd job of babysitting and whatnot. Any money saved by me and my family over the years has been to file for several different immigration documents as well as school. I haven’t been in school for about 5 yrs now. I am half way done with my bachelors degree but can’t complete it due to no funds. I live with my mom. She and my dad help me with living and transportation but can’t afford much else.
My family can only help so much since now they all have families of their own. So your help is greatly needed. All donations will go to the medical bill and/or any further bills caused by my long recovery before I am back to my regular life. If you can’t donate I would appreciate you to share this with any family and friends. Every little bit counts and is greatly appreciated.
