Miryam Descalzi - A Great Woman!

Dear Family and Friends:
We are mourning the loss of a wonderful person - Miryam Descalzi. A loving mother to me and my sister Magaly, and wise and caregiving wife to Dad, Dante A. Descalzi. Our Mom taught us the importance of hard work, perseverance, love, tolerance, and patience. 5 simple words but with complex meanings and very difficult to master. Her life is highlighted by wonderful experiences that bore long lasting friendships and productive outcomes. Our mother was full of compassion for other people in great need. This was exemplified by her 25 years of work in the non-profit health sector followed by 15 years of service to the elderly and disabled, the latter of which was spent along side my Dad. We are asking for friends and family to come together to aid us in giving her the proper send off. The funds raised will be used to partially help us cover for unpaid medical expenses incurred from her cancer treatment, viewing service expenses, and left over housing bills for the month. I finally would like to share a text message I sent to her as she was nearing her passing, when she could no longer hear us, but perhaps feel us...
"Mom, thank you for everything you did for us. It is time to embark in your new journey. When you arrive on that new port of call wherever that may be, don't forget to turn around and wave at us to let us know you are okay. Some day we will see each other again, and when that happens it will be the happiest day of my life. I will continue on making you proud every day I have left on this earth. I will take care of my sister Magguie and Dad and I will make sure nothing lacks them. I will teach my daughters everything you taught me and when you meet grandma, grandpa, and uncle, tell them we said Hi! Be strong and smile because everything will be alright. I love you, forever."

Queridos familiares y amigos: Estamos de velo hoy por la perdida de una persona maravillosa- Miryam Descalzi. Una madre amorosa para mi y hermana Magaly; y una inteligente y dedicada esposa hacia nuestro padre, Dante A. Descalzi. Ella nos enseno la importancia del trabajo arduo, perseverancia, amor, tolerancia y paciencia. 5 palabras simples pero dificiles de perfeccionar. Su vida tuvo hermosas experiencias en donde surgieron amistades duraderas y exitos. Nuestra madre tenia gran compasion por las personas en necesidad. Su experiencia en en los diferentes sectores de salud los realizo con orgullo, dedicacacion y gran parte a lado de nuestro padre. Estamos pidiendo a nuestros familiares y a los amigos de nuestra mama que juntos ayudemos a recaudar una cantidad simbolica que ayudara con facturas medicas pendientes del tratamiento de cancer que tuvo, y facturas en general despues de su ida.
Las ultimas palabras para nuestra madre: Mama gracias por todo lo que has hecho por nosotros. Hoy es tiempo de embarcarte en un nuevo viaje. Cuando llegues a tu nuevo destino, recuerda voltear y saludar. Algun dia nos volveremos a ver, y cuando suceda, este sera el dia mas lindo de nuestras vidas. Como tu hijo, te seguire enorgullesiendo cada dia en esta tierra. Cuidare a mi hermana u padre y me asegurare que nada les falte. Nuestras hijas aprenderan tus lecciones y cuando te reunas con la abuela, abuelo y tios, saludalos. Se fuerte y sonrie, por todo va a estar bien. Te amamos por siempre.
