Help Charlotte say thank you!!

As for most of you are aware our wonderful sister Charlotte Brah is battling Cancer once again!!!

This journey has been extremely difficult over the last 4 years and now we have been told she has days to weeks to live.

Our hearts are absolutely broken beyond belief, our sister who as battled so so hard is going to be gaining her Angel wings ..

Back in June 2020 Charlotte was diagnosed with breast Cancer, She had a 6 month course of chemotherapy and due to it not reacting well she had left breast Lumpectomy and full lymph node clearance in December 2020. In April 2021 she also had radiotherapy and that was ment to of been all of her treatments finished and nothing to ever return.

Due to the Age of Charlotte being Diagnosed at such a young age of 35 and previously being told about a possible gene Called CDH1 she had some blood tests to then find out she tested positive for the gene. Charlotte had 62 biopsies taken from her stomach in which at this time all was clear and a further check up was due 6 months later.

Upon this information Charlotte advised her brother to get tested as this was an inherited gene from her father.

Dev got in touch with the genetics team and they arranged to have some bloods taken and within 4 weeks he received the results and unfortunately he carried to CDH1 Gene too.

CDH1 is a mutation gene for gastric and breast Cancer, In female its breast and stomach Cancer and in male it’s Stomach Cancer.

The QE hospital Birmingham invited dev over to have the same biopsies has charl, he had 82 biopsies. After a few weeks of waiting for the results we had some dreaded news YES he had stomach cancer and he was given a choice basically make the most of around 6 months of life or have his full stomach removed so he would be cancer free.

Dev took the plunge and within 3 weeks he underwent surgery for a full gastrectomy. After many complications and his body failing to restore his fats he’s ended up on a feeding tube but is finally on the mend.

Back in November 2021 Charlotte was due for her second lot of biopsies unfortunately this time she wasn’t so lucky..

Her results come back with cancerous cells in her stomach!!! The QE hospital managed to act fast and give Charlotte the opportunity to have her Stomach removed too..

On the 6th of December 2021 Charlotte went through with a full gastrectomy in which saved her life, well that’s what we thought!!

Little did we know that when she was due to have her full mastectomy some awful news would show up on a scan.

BANG the horrible disease was back, this time in her bones. After hearing a life prognosis of around 5 years the family sort of come to terms with things and was planning to make lots of magical memories.

Then if that wasn’t bad enough after a few strange episodes she experienced, they decided to do a brain scan which unfortunately picked up that the Cancer had now travelled to her brain , a rare disease called " Leptomeningeal disease" which is a rare mutation of the CDH1 Gene and unfortunately this can't be cured we were then told she had months left to live .

Charlotte over this past week has since experienced a bowel blockage which they are unable to operate on, due to everything Charlotte is going through they have gave her days/weeks to live…

We are all finding it so so hard to come to terms with its heart breaking..

Charlotte is currently staying at the Myton Hospice Coventry who are all doing an absolute amazing job in keeping her comfortable and also allowing our family to stay in her room and one of their residential flats so we can be close to her…

I want all our family and friends to share this far and wide to help raise some money for this wonderful hospice which is all funded by charity donations and around 15% which comes from the NHS…

So as a family we will be doing many things to raise money for the hospice . One of which will be Nicci, Levi , Kade , Lilly . Myself, Tommy lee , Amber Ella and Louis walking 30 miles in 30 days in November .... but we won't stop there....
