Pam’s Medical Expenses

On October 31, 2020 my mom fell and hit her head off the end table in the living room in the middle of the night. She waited until November 8th to go to Winchester Hospital due to sharp pains in her head. After a CT scan, they found that she had a sub dural hematoma on the right side of her head on then transferred her to Lahey Clinic. Over the course of a week, two Lahey Clinic visits/stays (including the initial visit) there was no improvement.
After being home for 3 days she was readmitted on November 17th due to constant vomiting and then found out her bleed expanded. The Neuro team then decided to intervene and discuss surgery/procedure options. Yesterday, November 18th, she underwent surgery. They drilled two small holes into her skull to relieve pressure off her brain and to place a drain in to remove any access fluid and blood. The surgery went well, she is stable, and awake. Due to COVID we could not stay at the hospital while she was in surgery and patiently had to wait for a phone call when the surgery ended.
This has been something that has hit my family hard yet again and has taken a toll on us emotionally, mentally, and physically especially my mom and I. COVID has also impacted this process in which we could not stay with her in the emergency rooms and with visiting hours being so limited.
I am creating this GoFund me to help us with the medical expenses that will follow us post her hospital discharge. Both my mom and I are exhausted, stressed, and drained and any support will be appreciated. It would mean a lot to me and my mom knowing there’s a weight lifted off our shoulders in regards to bills. I thank all of those who have been helping us these past few weeks and appreciate the support to come.
