Help Nikola, a Black Latina Trans Woman, Secure Housing

Hello, my name is Nikola Thousand (pronouns she/they), and I am from NYC. I am a transfemme neurodivergent woman w/ BPD (as is current labels that best fit my current exprience by intersectional semantics alone).

Jan 15th update: This is going to be taking a while, and that's okay. Any and every contribution helps.

To heal effectively I cannot live in my parent's house during the process, as it sets my mind back every time I return and have to be in their home, knowing I am attending therapy to heal from the abuse I have endured as a child, setting boundaries that I need to set, and avoiding fawning for people who have hurt me/I have been hurt with in general.

As a Black trans Latina, I already endure enough discrimination as is based solely on my appearance, expression and my existence. I get catcalled and harassed by strangers already (so money for some protection would be very nice), and given my history with my parents kicking me out for my expression, I don't want to take risks with them getting more and more triggered by seeing me in clothes I feel comfortable with.

I am slowly working my way into the theater tech industry. I am actively seeking internships, gigs, and hopefully regular positions in lighting design, stagehand work, and anything applicable to my experience since 2014.

I am working on new music, and seeking opportunities to provide my production expertise with people I know, and local talent.
