Amy Jo's Fight

Donation protected
It took a lot of convincing but Amy is willing to let us do this. That said, it's in her best interest.  Amy has recently opened up about being diagnosed with Breast Cancer on her LMT page and everyone needs to hear Amy’s whole story below.

“To my dearest beloved people

I’d like you to know I’ll be stepping away from massage just for a little while.
On July 31st I had a mammogram and they found two suspicious spots on my right breast. On August 20th I had an ultrasound which confirmed the spots. On August 26th I had a breast biopsy and on August 28th I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma - Breast Cancer. Please, please, please get your annual mammograms!!! It was caught early!! Thank God!!
I’m going through the beginning steps of testing so the doctor can figure out our best plan of action. I’m scheduled for a breast MRI, CT scan and Bone scan. My doctor is covering all bases due to family history. Some of you know my family history others do not. For those of you who do not here is a brief history: My mom battled cancer for basically my whole life and passed away when I was 15. My Aunt Velda has battled cancer for many, many years and is still fighting. I lost a cousin to cancer when he was just 18 years old and on July 9th my 53 year old brother lost his fight to a very rare adrenal cancer.
My doctor told me this is curable and I will be fine. And, I believe him! God is good and He has me in his hands.
I will post updates here as I travel through this chapter of my life. I look forward to moving through this challenge and returning to what I love as soon as I am able
Until next time, do self exams and make an appointment for your annual mammogram if you haven’t already.”

After talking with Amy about all her tests and exams we found out that her insurance only negotiates for a discount. This discount ranges between 10% and 25%. So sad the broken system we have to deal with.  None of it is right. Also, Amy’s husband’s job is seasonal so he will be unemployed starting mid/late November through late March/early April. Don’t get the same pay when your on unemployment and Amy won’t be able to work after surgery for some time.  She hasn’t even had the surgery yet and already receiving all these bills and has more to be scheduled. To make matters worse they found a freckle behind Amy’s left eye that is also a concern and being checked again in February.

So here is where we all come in, and how we can finally give a little back to this Earth angel in her time of need. Please join us in raising funds to ensure Amy has a bit of peace during this time. No amount is too small. Let’s shower Amy with love! I know there are no words to truly express how much she will appreciate your love, support and generosity. We have set the 'goal' at $1.00 as Amy is not comfortable having a money goal, as is traditionally done. She is a child of God and a woman of faith. Amy’s leaving this in God’s hands. We do know that once she pays her deductible of $10,000 the insurance will kick in and cover more than just negotiating a discount. Any and all funds will be a blessing to her.

Amy will also continue to keep everyone up-to-date on her LMT Facebook page.  Please go here to start following https://www.facebook.com/AmyJoZelmerLMT/

THANK YOU in advance for BEING A BLESSING to Amy!

P.S.  All donations are going directly to Amy’s bank account.
