Help David Recover

On Monday, 21st June 2021 David 'Goldie' Atwood was working on his hot rod when an unfortunate accident occurred. He was engulfed in fire and was fortunately treated by neighbours until paramedics arrived. He was intubated, placed into a coma and airlifted to Royal North Shore Burns Unit ICU.

We know that he has full thickness (3rd degree) burns to 50% of his body.

He will require a lengthy hospital stay, multiple grafting surgeries and rehabilitation.

His wife, Helen, is planning on staying in Sydney until David is out of his coma and will then travel back and forth from their home in Muswellbrook to the hospital to visit.

His daughters have or are attempting to travel to the hospital from Queensland, and will travel back and forth over the coming months to provide support to both David & Helen.

Whilst Medicare covers some of the hospital costs, there will still be a large out of pocket expense. We understand that a lot of you are wanting to help, so we have set this page up to help with David's hospital stay, surgery and rehabilitation costs as well as travel & accommodation costs for Helen & the girls to visit.
