Abby's Recovery

Hi, my name is Julie Teixeira and I am creating this page to support Abby Jankowski. At this time, Abby has spent 3 weeks in the Cardiac ICU at UChicago Hospital. On April 17th, she was admitted with a strep infection which turned septic. The infection attacked her heart and lungs. She has required 2 heart surgeries and 2 lung surgeries to address the infection and damage. In addition, she remains in cardiac ICU battling the infection as well as some residual heart issues. While she has been in the hospital, her dad, Greg, has been with her the entire time taking off work to tend to her 24 hour care.

This GoFundMe will be used to offset the costs of Abby's extensive medical treatment she is receiving, as well as the treatment she will need over the next year or so while she recovers from this terrible infection.
