Drought Appeal

Hare Krishna Food For Life Hunter Valley Inc., a charity, which also supports animal protection, seek your urgent help during this difficult drought period.

The lack of substantial rain in the Hunter Valley region for almost two years now is impacting our ability to feed our hungry cows and bulls at New Gokula farm, Millfield. We have 73 of them, all lovely beings with their own personalities but it is heart-wrenching to see them suffer. Plus we also have a couple of goats and a horse rescued from going to a slaughter house just because she is old and ill.

While we pray the rain may soon arrive, practically on the ground there is hardly any grass growing, and our on-going ability to fund the feed for our friends is minimal. With the harsh winter still not over, we are struggling financially with the increased electricity costs involved with pumping water to stock troughs and the increasing costs of purchasing feed to keep our animals alive.
