My name is Vanessa Stelloh and I am raising money for a very close extended family member of mine, Alexandra Vitali. I have know Alexandra for about 19yrs. I became best friends w her older sister Valerie in 1997 when we moved in the house across the street from them. Ally was like a little sister to me and practically lived w us while her parents worked. Please read Allys story and donate any amount of money you can to help her and her family.
On Feb 5 2016 Alexandra had an allergic reaction to mangos. Luckily her boyfriend John was there and brought her to the hospital for immediate treatment. Gottlieb treated her for the reaction and while being treated Al had a stroke and became unresponsive. The drs and nurses werent sure what was going on at the time, they did not diagnose it as a stroke til hrs later. Around 430 pm Alexandra was rushed to Loyola hospital for emergency surgery for a blood clot on her brain. unfortunately the surgery was unable to be done as the damage was already done and clot was too far in. Alexandra became paralyzed on the right side of her body and lost the ability to speak. Over the days Ally has shown us what a true fighter she really is. She has said a few words and even written down a few things. She can smile and understands what is going on.
On Feb 8, they found a tumor on her heart. the tumor is believed to have caused the stroke. At this time they are unsure what the plan for the tumor is. Alexandra has a very very long road and fight ahead of her. She will have non stop physical, occupation and speach therpy in hope of her regaining all her strength and speach back. It is not guaranteed that she will fully recover but we all have high hopes for her.
Alexandra will be unable to work for a ungiven amount of time and her bills still need to be paid. On top of her regular mothly bills she will start getting her medical bills soon which will just be another stress factor for her and her family. I dont want this family to worry about anything more than her right now. please help with anything you can. it is greatly appreciated.
