Help save Millie
Donation protected
I have set this page up on behalf of Foxendown Pony Sanctuary after an awful day for one of our ponies. Poor Millie came in from the field this morning with an injury to her hock. As soon as we saw her deteriorating we called the vet, and thankfully we acted quickly which gave us the option of saving Millie by taking her to the vet hospital. Had we waited, the decision would've been taken out of our hands. She was taken to the hospital where she was x-rayed. The good news was that there wasn't a fracture to her hock, but unfortunately, the joint had become infected and the only way to treat this is with surgery, increasing the cost. We all felt that this was not Millie's time to go, but with 17 other ponies to support at the Sanctuary, we were put in a predicament. We would love to put every penny to save Millie, but if there was another problem we need to be able to support the other ponies too.
Despite being an older pony, Millie still has so much to give and is so loved by so many. Over the years she has given all she has to hundreds of children. She is one of the most popular ponies with lots of children requesting her as their pony of choice to ride on their lessons. She has the most loaners, she has been to countless shows and even though she gives the odd nip or cheeky buck, she remains one of the most popular faces at Foxendown. She takes youngsters on their first pony ride, she teaches older children how to canter and jump, enjoys a hack and has been there for birthday party celebrations and more.
Without the surgery, the chances are that Millie will not make it which is something we just can't let happen. But we can't do it without your help and the help of the public. So we really hope you can find it in your heart to help Millie, we thank you so much for any donation, big or small, you can give.
