Local Veteran and Family Needs Our Help
Donation protected
A local veteran was forced by his employer to terminate his job due to caring for his wife’s needs when she was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. After the cancer diagnosis and employment termination, the veteran’s family, including his wife and three children, were evicted from their home. Shortly after this eviction occurred, the family’s only vehicle was totaled as a result of a car accident. After locating a new place to stay for their family, him and his wife continued to walk for several miles so that she could receive her chemotherapy treatments. In addition, this veteran also walked his three children to school every morning because the family lacked a vehicle for transportation.
When Steve and Jordan Chronister, owners of Grandview Golf Course and Brewvino in Dover Township, and Wes Myers, General Manager of Thornton Automotive Dover, learned about the story of this veteran and the hardships they were facing, the three collaborated on a way to help! The trio selected a used 2013 Nissan Sentra, a trade-in vehicle at Thornton Automotive Dover, in excellent condition and contributed funding to present this vehicle to the veteran and his family.
We are all now asking for our community's help in making this holiday season a little brighter!!! In a day and age where all we seem to hear is bad news, IT'S TIME WE MAKE A CHANGE. We are hoping to raise $7500 to help this family with their Medical bills, household expenses, and more to give their 3 children a holiday season to remember!
Please join us in helping a Veteran in need. When he enlisted in the military, he was willing to help us if we needed him, and now it's our turn to do the same....
