Linda Noble - The Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Linda Noble is my sister. She had an equestrian accident Aug. 22, 2015. She broke her left tibia plateau, which is just under the knee, in her left leg. She initially went by ambulance to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. It was quickly determined that the injury was too much for this hospital to handle, so she was sent to Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

By the time she got there, the swelling in her leg was so bad, they couldn’t repair it right away. So, they had to attach an external fixator to her leg, to stabilize it until the swelling went down. This was her first surgery. Two days later, the surgeon determined that her leg had compartment syndrome. This means that the swelling inside the leg was so high that the surgeon had to go back into her leg, open the affected area and relieve the swelling. This was her second surgery.

Her third surgery came only 2 days later when the surgeon had to go back and close the open wound, using a skin graft from her upper left thigh.

After about 2 weeks, the surgeon decided the swelling was down far enough to continue so Linda had her fourth and final surgery. The doctor removed the external fixator and inserted all the pins and plates that would keep her leg together. There are about 14 pins and 3 plates. It looks like a set of railroad tracks.

I’m happy to report that Linda is healing well. She is convalescing at my home, because her home isn’t wheelchair friendly. She does have other concerns, and this is why I’m sharing her story with you.

The cost of all these surgeries, ambulance rides, doctor’s visits, medicine, medical equipment, etc., is astronomical. She is on short term disability from her place of employment, but it’s only 60% of her regular pay. Insurance is covering a lot of the expenses, but the deductibles are hitting her hard and she is in a financial bind.

If you could see it in your hearts to help her pay off some of these expenses, she would be very grateful. Anything you can give would be appreciated. If you can’t, please offer her up a prayer instead. Thank you in advance for all of you who care about Linda and help her ease her mind over having to pay all of these bills.

Thank you for reading her story, for giving her your love and for supporting her in any way you can. Together we can help Linda become financially stable and give her peace of mind while she concentrates on her physical recovery.
