N95 Masks for Healthcare Heros and Heroines
Donation protected
I am an Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine physician who feels called to help my colleagues as much as I can.
The hospitals are asking us to look for masks ourselves and many hospitals are rationing masks.
From UT Health Austin: "UTHA has dwindling supplies of PPE. None is readily (or affordably) available for purchase. It is predicted that UTHA has a 14 day supply.....Expired PPE is also accepted!"
This is my email from the hospital requesting physicians to purchase their own protective items and will reimburse up to $250:
We will order the N95/KN95/FFP2 mask straight from the manufacturer and will take no profit at all.
If you can donate just $2 today that is a mask for one hero or heroine!
Please donate and share to help protect our healthcare workers at the front lines. They are sacrificing their own lives and families during this crisis. I am very grateful for your generosity and kindness.
Ann Tsung, MD, MPH
Below is discusses the certification for the KN95 mask using GB2626-2006 standards (equivalent to NIOSH N95 standards)
