N95 Masks for NYC
Donation protected
THEY RISK THEIR LIVES TO SAVE OURS
New York City, the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, has 62 Acute Care Hospitals. As the number of patients infected with the COVID-19 virus continues to increase exponentially, overwhelmed doctors, nurses, and other health care workers are reporting that they are ill-equipped to safely care for their patients. These selfless heroes have no choice but to reuse N95 masks, which are meant to be single use (disposed of after each patient), for up to a week. Some healthcare workers don’t have access to masks at all. This significantly increases their risk of exposure to the virus.
Italy also struggled with shortages of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and as a result, over 50 doctors in Italy have died from complications due to Coronavirus so far. This number doesn’t include nurses and other essential healthcare workers. As Americans, it is our responsibility to protect the brave individuals risking their lives to save ours.
Thus far, the donated PPE provided to healthcare workers has been sent to hospitals where the equipment is distributed to several departments. We intend to focus solely on Emergency Rooms and Intensive Care Units, which have a more urgent need of N95 masks.
Our goal is to raise $10,000, 100% of which will go directly to the acquisition and delivery of N95 masks to ERs and ICUs in NYC.
Every $10 donated will allow us to equip 5 healthcare workers to safely treat patients infected with Coronavirus. While the healthcare workers on the frontlines are unquestionably heroes, they are also vulnerable people with spouses, children, parents, siblings and friends. Your donation could potentially save the lives of selfless individuals who are essential for reasons beyond their medical expertise.
Your donations can mean the difference between life and death. Every mask makes a difference.
· Your $2.5 donation will protect 1 healthcare worker
· Your $10 donation will protect 4 healthcare workers
· Your $20 donation will protect 8 healthcare workers
· Your $50 donation will protect 20 healthcare workers
· Your $100 donation will protect 40 healthcare workers
· Your $200 donation will protect 80 healthcare workers
· Your $250 donation will protect 100 healthcare workers
If we surpass our goal, we will keep acquiring additional PPE for front-line healthcare workers until every last penny is spent.
Where are we purchasing the masks?
We are working with trusted business associates who have a wide network of connections with suppliers in China. These business associates have been negotiating on our behalf. They have done a great job so far of getting us masks at a reasonable price, considering how many suppliers are price gouging.
What exactly will my donation be used for?
100% of the money goes directly toward buying masks and providing them to the front-line healthcare professionals in NYC’s ERs and ICUs.
Where exactly are the masks going to be distributed and how will I know when the hospitals have received the masks?
We will start by distributing the masks to ERs and ICUs at the heaviest hit hospitals, such as those in Queens, and continue to other hospitals as our funds permit. We have direct contacts at these hospitals, ensuring that the supplies can be delivered to the front-line healthcare professionals without dealing with too much bureaucracy.
We will keep detailed records of our orders, shipping, and funds distribution, and will notify our donors real-time of updates and progress by providing photos and receipts for all orders and deliveries. All masks donated will be verified with the proper certificates so that they meet hospital standards.
