James' Fight Against Cancer
Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by this current pandemic. Unfortunately for the White family, aside from COVID, we have been fighting our own monster. The past six months have been emotionally and financially difficult for our family as our father and husband, James was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma in October of 2019. He has endured many surgeries, procedures, scans and multiple treatment plans in order to help fight against his cancer. He was recently brought to Lake City E.R. and later admitted to Rochester Mayo ICU on April 27th for the third time this year. Our mom has been by his bedside through all of this. Recently she has been advised to take unemployment during this pandemic in order to avoid coming into contact with the Corona Virus at work. With the fear of the virus’ spread, this last visit to the ER was a little harder on us all as the hospital regulations don't allow anyone to ride the ambulance along side him nor visit him, including our mom. We are currently unaware at this time when he will be discharged and back home.
These unusual times have made it difficult for any of us to be with our dad physically and to show him our support. We are reaching out to kindly ask for any love or financial support you feel comfortable sending, all is appreciated. If you’d like to send him something via mail we will provide the address below. We understand that everyone has hit financial roadblocks but if you believe you can donate to help us fight this disease, please do what you can.
His current treatment is Chemotherapy once a week administered at the Rochester Mayo. Although he has had to cancel the last two treatments to allow his body to regain some strength.
We will do our best to update all of you as things are constantly evolving in his case. We will post new updates as we receive them to keep you all informed on his progress.
He has been very positive through this journey and say's he will continue to fight as long and hard as he can! He has been especially persistent in his fight to be able to share the Father/Daughter Dance with both of his girls at their upcoming weddings! We appreciate the ability to include all of you in his story and if that's all that we can accomplish here, we are more than thankful to do that.
