Bell School STEAM Accelerator w/ Girls STEM Track
We're raising money for the Chicago Public School’s first-ever K-8 - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math Accelerator
-- The Alexander Graham Bell STEAM Accelerator --
To give kids access to the tools needed to be inspired, to thrive. And become a model for other CPS schools to emulate.
Benefits of a STEAM program:
- Provide students access to the latest equipment, software curriculum and supplemental teachers- currently unavailable due to resource constraints
- Build 21st Century communication and collaboration skills
- Learn to think critically
- Acquire grit: fail, evaluate, try again, and persevere until a problem is solved
- Create opportunities for girls in STEM through mentorships and tailored programs
The Bell STEAM Accelerator will be the first K-8 program in Chicago Public Schools and the model to emulate in 2019 and beyond and will include:
- Robotics equipment
- 3D printing tools
- Laser cutters and engravers
- Video equipment, editing software, and recording studio
- Woodworking and textile shop, including tools, software and support
- Hands-on instruction from trained teachers and technologists
- Course development
- After-school STEAM clubs
- Girls STEM track, including mentors, role-models and targeted programs
- Partnerships with nonprofits like: Girls who Code, PowerUp Tech Academy, Deaf Kids Code, and more
Let's give our students the tools, training, and community to thrive in our future. Our society is embarking on a new industrial revolution -- based on artificial intelligence, robotics, 3D printing, 5g wireless, and more -- where a wave of business innovation will creatively transform our lives
Any donation will help make impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the kids.
