I have directly encountered poverty lacking the financial resources and essentials for a minimum standard of living. Personal responsibility and structural pressures including being black, having a child, and being a disabled person. The complexity of poverty and why certain groups are more likely to experience poverty both a cause and a consequence of factors in the economy and society. Partly due to the inability to generate a lot of income on my own as a result of historical factors. My children face discrimination and limited advancement opportunities. They are at a great risk for financial hardship. The likelihood of gaining employment is low. Regardless of citizenship status people living in the United States are more likely to live in poverty and earn poverty wages. Finding steady employment can be particularly difficult due to barriers of discrimination. Currently facing obstacles such as food insecurity and health problems. The unemployment for the disabled and disabled alike has actually become one of the more obvious contributors of poverty. Those who are eligible for benefit thank you, but these are often not enough to escape poverty, particularly since I have dependents to support.
