Help Nabq Dogs

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sarah and I am fundraising to help street and desert dogs in Nabq, a part of Sharm el Sheikh Holiday Resort in Egypt.
A group of volunteers work very hard to monitor, catch, neuter, spay, vaccinate and tag (TNR = TRAP NEUTER RELEASE) Nabq dogs and encourage hotels, residential compounds, residents and local businesses to support food and water stations to keep the dogs happy and healthy.
More than 150 dogs out of an estimated population of 450 have been tagged by making use of campaigns funded by Hotels, and private donations.

I personally became involved three years ago when I saw a pack of rather scruffy black dogs at the checkpoint at the end of Nabq. They were causing problems chasing cars, killing pets and local residents were calling for them to be moved or destroyed. I wanted to help them so with a lot of work and support from regular 'Angel' feeders building their trust and keeping feeding to one point to encourage the dogs to stay away from the residential area, amazingly patient dog catchers and vets from 3 TNR campaigns, all 27 dogs were caught and tagged.
It has been amazing to visit the dogs and see the pack evolve and the difference now is huge. The males are calm and no longer fight and all the dogs are happier, healthier, more approachable and of course the population growth is now zero. whereas before, tourists going to Nabq national Park were visibly nervous of walking past an unruly pack of dogs, they now stop, feed and pet them!

This work is continuing all over Nabq, with volunteers patiently working pack by pack. Other packs have already been completely tagged and some packs only have a few more dogs to catch People have seen a huge difference but there are still many packs and 'hotspots' where dogs and residents clash or some puppies are found and the work of patiently feeding to build trust to get the dogs close enough to catch begins again but the nice thing when you visit Nabq is that there are now many more tagged dogs than there were before!
The newly opened AMC veterinary clinic in Nabq has made a massive difference to the Nabq TNR Campaign, giving incredible support and reduced rates for street dogs. On average, each dog costs around 28.00 pounds sterling to catch, vaccinate and neuter or spay, but some need a little longer in the clinic for blood parasite or worm treatment etc. which all adds to the cost and although many are hand caught by brave volunteers, most are too shy and so the help of a professional dog catcher is needed to dart the dog with sedative which of course adds even more so in reality, it can cost up to 40.00 pounds sterling per dog with food used for intensive feeding to build trust, the dog catcher fees, and vets bills for spaying, neutering, rabies vaccine and any further treatment required for injuries or illness.

I really don't like to ask for money but now the Nabq doggy volunteers have achieved so much and it is making such a huge difference, it would be a shame if it could not be continued just because of lack of funds so it would be amazing if, with your help, more dogs could be helped to live happy healthy lives in Nabq. Even a little helps but is really much appreciated.
I am aiming to raise 4,000 pounds as that would definitely cover the cost of tnr for 100 more dogs!
