Nachhaltigkeitsbewegung für Kinder! Sustainability for Kids!

1. Wer bist du eigentlich?

Mein Name ist Sascha Utecht (Anfang vierzig), und die große Liebe zum Ozean hat mich vor gut drei Jahren mit Frau und Kind nach Portugal geführt.

Ein reales Abenteuer, dem die Leidenschaft für fiktionale Abenteuer kurz darauf eine zusätzliche Wendung verlieh. So habe ich den Beruf als Experte für Qualitäts-, Energie- & Umweltmanagementsysteme an den Nagel gehängt, um mich Vollzeit dem Erzählen von Abenteuergeschichten für Kinder zu widmen.

Und weil ein altes Umweltmanagement-Herz natürlich weiter schlägt – vor allem für meinen Sohn und seine Generation, die noch viel mehr als wir mit den Herausforderungen unserer Umwelt konfrontiert sein werden – ist daraus ein ganz besonderes Lebensprojekt entstanden: eine Nachhaltigkeitsbewegung für Kinder im Grundschulalter!

2. Worum geht es bei deinem Projekt?

Kinder im Grundschulalter leben in ihrer ganz eigenen Realität, die noch so wunderbar reich ist an fantastischen Wesen, Superhelden und Abenteuergeschichten. Doch sie bekommen auch immer mehr mit von unserer Erwachsenenwelt – und damit von den zunehmenden Umweltproblemen (was unser soziales Miteinander natürlich mit einschließt)!

Umso wichtiger ist es, diese Themen kindgerecht zu vermitteln! Also ohne Angst zu machen, sondern mit spannend verpackten Infos, ganz viel positiver Stimmung und vor allem der Möglichkeit, selbst aktiv zu werden!

Genau das ist das Ziel meines „Amazing Surfbots Öko Rettungsteams“: Fantasie und Wirklichkeit miteinander verbinden, um Nachhaltigkeitsthemen auf die Augenhöhe der Kinder zu bringen!

3. Wie genau vermittelt dein Projekt das Thema Nachhaltigkeit kindgerecht?

Die Kinder tauchen einerseits ein in die fiktive Welt des Erdenmädchens Emmi und ihrer Roboterfreunde Curly, Mick und Duke vom Planeten Waterria. Als das Surfbots Öko Rettungsteam stürzen sich die Vier in kleine und große Umwelt-Rettungsmissionen voller Action, Humor und haufenweise Sommerstimmung – aktuell vor allem in den Büchern der Surfbots.

Doch das Nachhaltigkeits-Abenteuer endet nicht in der Fantasie! Denn die Kinder können „gemeinsam mit dem Surfbots Öko Rettungsteam“ selbst aktiv werden – dank einer bunten Palette an Möglichkeiten für kostenlosen Umwelt-Freizeitspaß!

4. Wie sieht dieser kostenlose Umwelt-Freizeitspaß für Kinder aus?

Das Surfbots Öko Rettungsteam bietet Kindern über die Website www.surfbotpower.com verschiedene Optionen, um als echte Umwelt-Superhelden aktiv zu sein – alles inspiriert von den Nachhaltigkeitszielen der Vereinten Nationen (Tierschutz, Klimaschutz, Gerechtigkeit und Frieden, etc.).

5. Wie willst du das alles realisieren?

Ziel ist, dass sich diese Nachhaltigkeitsbewegung für Grundschulkinder einmal von alleine trägt - im Wesentlichen über ihren fiktionalen Teil, also die Verkäufe der Abenteuerbücher, möglicher nachhaltiger T-Shirts oder Spielzeugartikel, usw.

Den Sprung dorthin schaffe ich aber NUR MIT EURER UNTERSTÜTZUNG!

Denn noch spielen die beiden bisher erschienenen Bücher nicht ausreichend Geld ein, um die teils kostenintensiven Entwicklungsarbeiten für all die kostenlosen Services finanzieren zu können:

1. who are you actually?

My name is Sascha Utecht (in my early forties), and about three years ago my great love for the ocean took me to Portugal with my wife and son.

A very real adventure that took an additional twist shortly afterwards due to my passion for fictional adventures. So I quit my job as an expert for quality, energy and environmental management systems to dedicate myself full-time to telling adventure stories for kids.

And because an old environmental management heart continues to beat – especially for my son and his generation, who will be confronted with the challenges of our environment much more than we are – this has resulted in a very special project: a sustainability initiative for primary school kids!

2. what is your project about?

Primary school children live in their very own reality, which is still so wonderfully rich of fantastic creatures, superheroes and adventure stories.

But they are also learning more and more about our adult world – and thus about the increasing environmental problems (which of course includes our social interaction)!

This makes it all the more important to convey these topics in a child-friendly way! In other words, without scaring the children, but with excitingly packed information, lots of positivity and, above all, the opportunity to be active yourself!

That's exactly the aim of my "Amazing Surfbots Eco Rescue Team": to combine both fantasy and reality to bring sustainability issues to the level of children!

3. how exactly does your project convey the topic of sustainability in a child-friendly way?

On the one hand, the kids dive into the fictional world of Earth girl Emmi and her robot friends Curly, Mick and Duke from planet Waterria. As the Surfbots Eco Rescue Team, the four of them embark on environmental rescue missions full of action, humor and lots of summer fun - currently mainly in the Surfbots books.

But the sustainability adventure doesn't end in fantasy! Because children can be active themselves "together with the Surfbots Eco Rescue Team" – thanks to a colorful range of opportunities for free environmental leisure fun!

4. what does this free environmental fun for children look like?

The Surfbots Eco Rescue Team offers children various options to be active as real environmental superheroes via the website www.surfbotpower.com – all inspired by the sustainability goals of the United Nations (animal welfare, climate protection, justice and peace, etc.).

5. how do you want to realize all this?

The aim is for this sustainability initiative for primary school kids to finance itself one day – essentially through its fictional part, i.e. the sales of the adventure books, possible sustainable T-shirts or toys, etc.

But I can only get there WITH YOUR SUPPORT!

Because the two books published so far are not yet generating enough money to finance the partly cost-intensive development work for all the free services:
