Nada’s Car Break-in Recovery Fund

As you may have heard, my car was recently broken into when parked in my building’s parking lot. The person smashed my car window and stole my backpack, which contained my laptop, a Nintendo switch, Apple Watch, and wireless earphones. On top of the loss of these valuables, I have to cover the cost of repairing my car window, which I currently don’t have the funds to do. I’ve exhausted all resources that I could in terms of insurance coverage and filing a police investigation,  with no success. 


My housing company (Accomod8u) has been extremely unhelpful in the matter, to the point of causing me significant stress and adversely impacting my mental health. Though I parked my car under a security camera, I’ve spent weeks calling/messaging them only to be told that they have no footage of that evening. The police have also provided me with very limited assistance on the case, telling me that they’re unable to investigate unless I provide them with security footage of the break-in (I’ve spent many weeks in a ping-pong situation between Accommod8u management and the police now). My insurance company has also been unable to help since the cost of the damages is outside of my insurance deductible coverage, and so I have to pay the damages out of pocket. 


After weeks of constantly following up with the police, Accommod8u management, and my insurance company, I have finally settled on trying to replace my stolen valuables and fix my car. I’m finding these expenses out of my scope to cover as a student, and I’m asking for your support to help me recover some of the losses.
