Please support Nadia and her girls

Hi, we (Alli and Janine) are currently in Malaga, Spain with our children. The plan was to spend a few days with Nadia, her husband Jaime, and their two daughters - Alexia (11) and Lara (7). It would be the first time we were all together since 1999.
On Tuesday, July 4th- Nadia picked up Janine and her son at the train station and headed to Alli’s rental home to kick off the reunion. We spent the next few hours talking, laughing and drinking wine. We all ended up sleeping at Alli’s due to the late hour. Nadia’s husband, Jaime, would join us in Malaga on Thursday after work.
On Wednesday morning, Nadia received a call completely shattering her world. Jaime suffered a massive heart attack at the train station in Madrid on the way to work. The paramedics attempted to resuscitate him for over an hour but were not successful. He was only 47 years old. Today, Nadia and the girls are saying goodbye to their husband and dad.
We are asking that you respect Nadia’s intense privacy and not reach out to her to express condolences until she is ready to share this news. She is fiercely private when it comes to her family.
Jaime Lopez Martinez was an amazing man. He was a professional soccer player in both Spain and the UK in his early 20s. Later, he studied finance and got his MBA. They lived and worked in Madrid.
The loss is devastating on so many levels. Nadia and the girls lost a husband and dad. In addition, Jaime was the primary breadwinner for the family. Nadia is currently building her travel and hotel consulting business as her full-time career in hospitality collapsed with COVID.
Nadia and Jaime had recently moved to an apartment close to the girls’ Catholic school. They were thriving there learning English half-day, swimming, playing soccer, and riding horses. Jaime was so beloved by Nadia and the girls for his kindness, sense of humor, and warmth. He loved being a dad to little girls!
We would love to raise money so that Nadia can continue to give the girls the education that she so dearly values. We are asking you, her Merion family who made up her life in the USA for four years, to support her at this time in any way that you can.
