Nadia Markevich Funeral expenses

I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my good friend Bill Auer for Nadia's family to help cover the costs of her funeral.

Nadia passed away in the early morning on Sunday, 11/12/23. Although Nadia had battled health issues the past several years, her death was very unexpected. Nadia was Bill's loving caregiver and cherished companion for the past 22 years. It was because of her that Bill was able to live such a full life throughout that time; be it just getting up and going, meals, and a warm home or getting out to fairs, festivals and plant shows or hosting many a summer gathering and holiday barbecue with so many friends and family. That is a blessing that cannot be overstated any more than the deepness of Bill's loss can be properly expressed.

Nadia was a beautiful soul, loved by everyone and truly made Bill's house a home. Well known for her cooking, baking and her gracious hospitality, no one could enter without soon being asked if they wanted something to eat or drink. And, regardless of your answer, more than likely you would still be presented with a plate of deliciously prepared food which quite often contained fresh herbs from her garden. If you were lucky enough, you would be treated to several courses of appetizers, dinner and a delicious homemade dessert.

Everyone knew of Nadia's love of gardening and how proud she was to show off all the beautiful flowers, plants and trees around their house that she had planted and cultivated over the years. Nadia also liked to travel and for many years would go back to her beloved Ukraine and her home city of Lviv. She would help care for her Aunt while there as well as visit the children at the orphanage she patronized. She also loved photography and would return home with beautiful pictures of her country, especially her Lviv and her visits to Crimea prior to its annexation.

Nadia is survived by her loving sister Lesia and two nephews whom she cared for as her own and who adored her. She loved them all very much as well as all her other cousins and family members.
