Nadine's Cancer Fight

After fighting and beating breast cancer, Nadine had routine scans done in April of 2018.  These scans found 7 tumors, two of which were in her brain.   She sought treatment locally (in Brainerd, MN) only to be told there was nothing they could do and to get her affairs in order.   Instead, she contacted the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL, and began her latest fight against cancer in May 2018.   Almost immediately, she underwent two brain surgeries to have the tumors removed.  Then she started radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, with almost weekly trips back to Zion.   

While she has had a lot of side effects and some setbacks, Nadine is winning this fight.  The cancer, however, has taken a financial toll on both her and her caregiver.  Nadine is having to go out of state (to Zion) for scans and treatment every 6 weeks and out of town (to Bemidji, MN a 4-hour round trip) for maintenance chemo every 3 weeks.   In addition to the travel, the medical and pharmaceutical bills are piling up.

 Nadine is down to three tumors and we couldn’t be more grateful.  We thank CTCA for the excellent care and treatment of Nadine in her fight against cancer.   However, with almost two years of treatment we don’t see her treatment ending anytime soon.   

Nadine has been a loving wife and has raised four children and grandchildren.  She has also been a caregiver herself.   We are asking for help financially to help with the medical and pharmacy bills as well as the travel expenses.  Please help and rally around her so she is able to focus more on the fight and less on the finances.   If unable to help financially, we ask all to please keep Nadine in your prayers.
