Nadine's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Julie and I have started this go-fund, in hopes that you might be able to assist our dear friend, Nadine Mancuso. Nadine was a neighbor, in Dedham, MA, for a total of 10 years and our children grew up together. In 2014 she and her husband divorced and Nadine and her son moved to California to be close to her family and friends. Shortly after finding a job she was diagnosed with right-sided breast cancer. A whirlwind ensued after that and in the past fourteen month she has had seven surgeries due to her diagnosis. She cautiously underwent a double mastectomy to ensure that she would be able to return to work and to taking care of her son with out any further interruptions and health concerns.
Unfortunately, shortly after recovering from her final surgery she felt another lump. Only weeks after finding the lump, she is again, beginning the exhausting process of multiple surgeries. Surgery one of this second round is complete and the future treatment is unknown, but sure to include some combination of more surgeries, chemotherapy and/or radiation. Not only is a cancer diagnosis and treatment devestating, but the added financial stress adds a tremendous amount of worry, stress and frustration. We would love to be able to help Nadine pay her rent, her heating bills, her son’s extra child care costs and any medical bills we can while she is receiving and recovering from treatments.
Nadine is distraught, concerned about her health and the effect this has on her son, but is doing all she can to remain positive and be grateful for what she has.
While we put a goal of $10,000, truly if as a group, we were able to cover any of her bills, a month worth of rent even, she would be able to rest and recover without that stress looming over her. And in my heart, I know, that she will be the type of person that will take your generosity, and when she is healed, spread it to others.
Thank you for helping a friend in need.
