Ruben Centre & ERCN Nairobi

Do you want to join me in making a difference?

Last year I was fortunate enough to spend some time with the Ruben Centre and ERCN during my travel to Kenya. Both project offer a safe and fun space for the most vulnerable people living in the slums of Nairobi.

Ruben Centre is a non-profit organization located in the Mukuru Slums of Nairobi, Kenya. The center was established in 1986 by the Christian Brothers with the aim of improving the lives of people living in the slums. The center provides a range of services to the community, including education, healthcare, and community development programs.

Ruben Centre's education program provides primary and secondary education to over 3,000 children in the slums. The center's healthcare program includes a medical clinic, a laboratory, and a pharmacy that provides essential healthcare services to the community. Additionally, Ruben Centre's community development programs focus on issues such as water and sanitation, women's empowerment, and entrepreneurship.

The Edmund Rice Centre Nairobi is a non-profit organisation that is committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged and marginalised communities of the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya. The organisation's mission is to provide education, healthcare, and other basic necessities to children with disabilities, with a focus on empowering the youth in Nairobi, which helps them to break the cycle of poverty and achieve a better future.

The staff at the center work closely with families to provide ongoing support and ensure that the needs of each child are met. By working to empower children with disabilities and their families, the centre is helping to create a more inclusive and equitable society in Nairobi.

At Indy Escapes, we are proud to support the Ruben Centre and ERCN in their efforts to improve the lives of those living in the Mukuru and Kibera slums. We believe that education, healthcare, and community development are crucial in breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a better future for the community. By supporting the Ruben Centre and ERCB, we hope to contribute to this important work and make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.
