AsSalaamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
(May the peace, mercy, & blesssing of The Almighty One be with you),
It is with heavy hearts & great sorrow to report that Br. Shadi Najar (the son of Br. Adi Najjar), and Artem Ziberov (son of Julia & William Tewelow), were killed in a tragic shooting on Monday,
June 5th. We pray that The Most Graciou & The Most Merciful grants them mercy, heaven, & support to both families with patience.
Artem Ziberov, 18, and Shadi Adi Najjar, 17,
were killed in a shooting the night before their graduation on Monday June 5th, at 10:46PM.
Artem Ziberov, In addition to being an outstanding student, Artem was a friend to many, a loving son to Julia and William Tewelow, and an active scout. Artem earned the rank of Eagle Scout, completing a major service project to benefit the Second Chance Wildlife Center in Gaithersburg. He was planning to study international relations at the University of Maryland next year. Artem will be returned to his native Russia for burial.
Both Students were honor role, loving, and kind. They were very fine young men with a bright future ahead of them. They are mostly remembered for the smile
and their willingness to help someone in need.
Let us show Bro. Najjar's & Mr. Ziberov's families, how we as a community can come together and support them in this most difficult time. With the unexpected passing, the families will have many expenses. Please consider helping this grieving families during their time of need.
Thank you in advance and may The All Praiseworthy, The Creator, The Most High, bless you and your families and accept all our deeds!
Jazakum Allahu Khairan,
- ISG community members, Families, and Friends!
P.S. Special Thanks to Islamic Society of Germantown (isgtown.org) & The Neelsville Presbyterian Church (neelsville.org) for all the help with the funeral services, cost, and accomadations!
