Morris Family: Adoption Take Two
Donation protected
Nick and I met in high school and began dating at age 16. We had an instant connection. He was, and still is, my best friend. During our senior year of high school, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and Endometriosis. It was a very difficult time, but we got through it together.
Nick & I both adore kids. We both decided to enter into the education field in college. After college, we took the next step and got married.
We have ten nieces and nephews who we love to spend time with. We didn't want to wait long to start a family. However, after some time we realized conception wasn't going to be as easy as we hoped. Crohn's disease and Endometriosis are both conditions that make conception difficult.
I went through 6 cycles of Clomid/Femara with no success. We then turned to IVF and after two failed cycles and one miscarriage, we had had enough. I was emotionally and physically drained. We only wanted to start a family, we didn't care if it was a biological child or not.
We decided to meet with friends who had recently adopted. After hearing the process, we knew it was the route we wanted to take. We both have cousins whom are adopted and it seemed like the most natural choice in the world.
We decided to begin the adoption process and boy can it be a roller coaster ride! Through all the emotional ups and downs, in June of 2012 we were blessed with life's greatest blessing, our daughter Kendall.
It is now our greatest hope and desire, that God will bless us with another child. We look forward to being Mommy and Daddy, and Kendall looks very forward to being a big sister.
Thank you for reading and sharing. God bless!
