Healing Health Healing Hearts is a non profit organisation that aims to train trainers with the skills and knowledge to heal trauma, create a better life and to support greater emotional and mental resilience among vulnerable refugees and conflict survivors.

As part of HHHH, we have a farm that is located in the Kabazana NAKIVALE REFUGEE CAMP in western Uganda. On this farm we teach and practice permaculture to refugees, hence creating food security and fighting hunger in the community.

We grow food crops such as bananas, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, cassava and maize, and many more crops, and have been able to feed an average of 20 -25 vulnerable widow and orphan refugees with our current growing project.

Understanding the difficulty of living as a refugee in a new country with limited food, water, medical care and clothing inspires us to increase our current food growing and food security programme to expand across a 2 acre area within the refugee camp.

Doing this will enable us to produce more food for more refugees, as well as train up more and more people to become capable permaculture growers and hence food self-sufficient and secure.

Not only do growing and teaching and learning programmes of this kind support food security, but they also operate as profound therapeutic support to those in trauma recovery.

HHHH needs start up funding to support the development of this expanded growing and permaculture teaching and learning area, thus reaching and serving many more vulnerable people with this growing work.

HHHH has created a carefully strategic start up budget, requiring $4600 (rounded down to £3600), with which to develop this expanded 2 acre area.

This budget is carefully itemised strategically, starting with the most important items to be bought first, and then working up to a fully functional growing 2 acre sized farm, feeding many more people in the process.

Financial transparency, accountability and responsibility are absolutely crucial for the authentic growth of a meaningful community project.

To this end, there will be no monies received or spent, without a full visual (photographed receipts), digital (screenshotted evidence), ACCOUNTED FOR AND AUDITABLE FINANCIAL TRAIL.

Every single shilling, dollar, pound, cent or pence will be recorded and accounted for.

In this way, step by step, we will show the POWER OF YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS in supporting meaningful grassroots change for vulnerable communities in Africa.

These figures are current market price approximates. The specific costs will be fully recorded, as pledged above.
