Nakku Harriet's Ugandan Orphanage Needs Your Help

Donation protected
Greetings to all those in service to the betterment of the world, in the name of Jesus Christ! My name is Christopher David Moyer, and last Easter, while browsing my Facebook feed, I stumbled upon a post by a woman who called herself WizTashGand. She was trying to raise some money so the children from the orphage that she ran in Uganda could have a hearty Easter meal, rather than the rice and polluted water they were accustomed to eating and drinking all year round.  I didn't have much to give, but I was able to donate $50 through Sendwave.
I was quite pleased when a day or 2 later, she sent me pics of the delicious food she had been able to provide for her orphanage with my small donation. Since last Easter, I have contributed 3 or 4 times to assist in the running of the orphanage, and providing them with much needed food and water, but I am realizing that there is so much more need there than I can fill at the moment, and your help is desperately needed, and greatly appreciated.

Meet a modern day hero- WizTashGand, as she goes by on Facebook. Her real name is Nakku Harriet, but she decided to use the name WizTashGand on Facebook in honor of three of her children whom she tragically lost all at once in a car accident a little over three years ago. Here is a photo of Wiz, Tash, and Gand:

She had a 4th child, Namukwaya, who also died in the accident.
After the tragedy, Nakku had very little to live for, her husband having left her, and she had no remaining children, so she decided she would invest the rest of her life into helping others. She had no income, and very little savings, but with an incredible heart for the underserved and malnourished, she began caring for children who lived close by her in Uganda who had lost both parents and who had no one to look after them. After a time, with the amount of hungry mouths to feed, Nakku realized she needed a building to house all these needy children. (she had also begun caring for the elderly and infirm).
After a time she was able to secure a building large enough to house a couple dozen or so people. And her orphanage began to be a safe harbour for many poor kids and elderly. Here is an inside look at the orphanage with many of its residents:

For some time there were about 24 residents, but a month or so ago, there was a lot of rain in the villages which lead to floods and homes getting destroyed, so a few more needy members were added to the orphanage.

For a time, Nakku ran the orphanage with 2 other adults, but awhile ago, one was in a pretty serious accident, and the other chose to help the injured full time, so that left Nakku to run the orphanage all by herself.
The needs are many, as now the orphanage is housing a full 30 residents. I do what I can with my meagre income, but it's not nearly enough, and there are so many unmet needs. The orphanage needs funding for food and water, school fees for the children, and rent. Ultimately, I would love to raise enough money so that the orphanage can buy a tillable plot of land, maybe an acre or so, and Nakku, who has some garden experience, could grow a garden with the kids assistance, and they could have food to both eat for themselves, and sell at the market for extra money to fund additional projects and cover additional expenses.  Here are a few more photos I received from Nakku, showing various parts of the orphanage with its residents:

Will you stand with me, and help out this unsung hero named Nakku Harriet? Even if you can only donate $5, please know your contribution will go a long way in helping these poor people out.
look at all the nice veggies Nakku was able to buy at the market with just a small $20 donation from me:
I originally set the target goal at the beginning of our campaign at $1000, of which we reached about half of our goal by Christmas.  But the needs are great and so I have increased the goal to $5000, with no end date set. Once Nakku's orphanage is self sustaining, I will end the campaign, but for now, she needs our help more than ever. The money raised will first be used for rent, school fees for the children, and immediate food and water needs. If there's enough left over after that, a portion of land will be purchased, to make a garden, as well as seeds and tools to work the garden.     Let's show Nakku she's not alone in caring for the hungry and needy, and give her a gift she'll never forget!  God bless you richly.
